What a ghastly photo !!

This photo is the Sepia Saturday prompt this week. We bloggers try to follow the theme, in some vague way, as a seed in our thoughts. Sepia Saturday provides bloggers with an opportunity to share their history through the medium of photographs. Historical photographs of any age or kind become the launchpad for explorations of family history, local history and social history in fact or fiction, poetry or prose, words or further images. Click here to learn more.

There was a Celt queen named Boud'ca
Whose armour did never quite suit her
The heat of her body
Left her feeling quite soggy
A sense not unknown to Madonna.

The end
(It's all I can manage this week due to an unusual British heatwave !!)

  2. Theme words were "armour, helmets, shields, fancy dress, pantomime, theatricals, warlike women or big sticks" and I think this photo ticks a lot of those boxes!

  3. Madonna, soggy under that costume! The very thought gives me the creeps. Hope you're having fun in the heat.

  4. Good thing you don't live in a place that is hot more often! Interesting take on the theme, in spite of your heat wave.

  5. Merlin's beard! What is Madonna wearing this time?! But it's not a bad outcome of the summer heat :0 Take care.

  6. I don't know how you managed to produce such a short post about women and breastplate armor (sp) and avoid cheap cliches! Must be the heat.
